What's in the range?
- Sweaters and knitwear – we knit our wool sweaters and knitted pullovers in our own knitting mill in Oulu, Finland.
- Dresses and skirts – merino wool dresses and skirts for everyday wear, work and special occasions.
- Pants and leggings – merino pants and leggings in different fits and leg lengths.
- Base layers – close-fitting base layers from light 150 g/m² fabric to a heavy 260 g/m² thermal.
- T-shirts and underwear – light merino layers closest to the skin.
- Coats – merino wool coats and fleece jackets as your outer layer.
Why merino wool?
Fine merino fibre feels soft against the skin for most people. Merino wool absorbs moisture into the fibre, so the garment feels dry even when you are on the move and the temperature changes. It also resists odour, so airing it out is often enough between wears. Skin sensitivity varies – if you usually find wool itchy, choose a smooth, dense knit or wear a thin merino top underneath.
Mulesing-free merino wool
We use only mulesing-free merino wool in all our products. North Outdoor is a Finnish company specialising in merino wool clothing, and we design our products in Finland.
