All North Outdoor knitwear is 100% merino wool and responsibly made in Finland. We also offer a wide range of knitwear sizes. When choosing the right size, we recommend that you consult the size chart attached to the product. Please note that there is always a slight variation in the sizes of knitwear made from natural fibres. However, merino wool knitwear has a good elasticity and will adapt to the wearer's needs during the first few uses.

What makes merino wool so special?

There is a difference between sweaters and knits on the market. The most ecological, high-quality and durable knitwear is made from natural fibres such as merino wool. Thanks to the material we use, all our knitwear is perfectly comfortable to wear and stands the test of time. Merino sheep live in exceptional weather conditions, which makes their wool different from that of other sheep. Over the ages, merino wool has evolved to cope with both heat and cold. A knitwear made from merino wool works in the same way as wool in sheep - it naturally regulates body temperature. That's why a merino wool knit is particularly warm in winter, but cools in summer. How to care for your merino sweater

The most important care for your merino wool sweater is ventilation. Merino wool is a naturally antibacterial material that cleans itself in fresh air. Ventilation even removes the smell of sweat and smoke. The material also repels dirt naturally. We recommend washing merino wool as rarely as possible and only when the sweater looks like it needs washing. You can hand wash the knitwear with wool detergent or machine wash on a delicate cycle at 30 degrees. After rinsing, squeeze most of the water out of the sweater, for example with a towel, and shape the sweater to your desired shape. Always give your knitwear a gentle drying.

Slight linting is characteristic of new merino wool knitwear and is caused by loose wool fibres. You can prevent this by removing loose fibres from the surface of the knitwear a clothes brush with a brush. You can also use the following to help remove the lint a doll cutter.
