Men's merino boxers – choose the weight by use
Merino boxers stay fresh for several wears because merino fibre moves moisture away from the skin and slows odour build-up. What decides the choice is the weight of the knit: the same product comes as a light 150 g/m² everyday boxer and as a thick 260 g/m² version for the cold. The fibre in these boxers is 17.5–19.5 microns.

Which weight should you choose?
The micron figure tells you about softness, the weight of the knit about warmth. These are two different things.
- All day 150 g/m² – the lightest. Everyday wear, the office and travel, summer included.
- Active 210 g/m² – for movement and longer days outdoors.
- Sensitive 225 g/m² – merino wool on the outside, bamboo viscose on the inside. The choice if wool against the skin gives you pause.
- Arctic 260 g/m² – the thickest. A base layer for sub-zero days and winter trips.
How many days do merino boxers last in use?
Merino wool slows odour build-up, so most people wear the same boxers for several days, particularly when hiking or travelling. Airing them overnight is usually enough to restore freshness. The experience is individual, and a sweaty training day is different from a day at the desk.
Do merino boxers chafe?
Chafing comes from the seam and the fit, not from the material. These boxers have flat seams and a longer leg that stays in place instead of rolling up the inner thigh. Merino wool stretches and returns to shape, because the crimp in the fibre works like a small spring.
Do merino boxers itch?
Prickle comes from wool fibres over 30 microns, which do not bend against the skin but press into it. In these boxers the fibre is 17.5–19.5 microns, so it bends softly and does not trigger a prickle response in most people. If you are particularly sensitive to the feel of wool, the Sensitive model puts the bamboo viscose side against your skin.
How do you wash merino boxers?
At 30 °C on a wool or delicate programme, with a wool detergent of pH 7 or lower. An alkaline detergent roughens the surface of the fibre. No fabric softener, no tumble dryer.
