Merino Wellness

Merino Wellness – merino wool for movement, rest and recovery

The main job of a wellness garment is to go unnoticed. Merino wool holds 14–16% of its own weight in moisture as vapour before it feels damp against the skin – for polyester the figure is about 0.4%. That is why the same piece works for a morning stretch and for winding down in the evening. The knits in the Wellness collection are chosen for stretch and skin feel.

What moments is the Wellness collection made for?

The quieter parts of the day: mornings, stretching, a walk in the forest, being at home and the evening. The collection is neither training wear nor pure loungewear, but something in between – clothing you do not have to change when the moment does.

What is the difference between merino–TENCEL™ rib and Merinostretch?

The rib knit is smoother and lighter, Merinostretch is stretchier.

  • Merino–TENCEL™ rib – TENCEL™ adds smoothness and lightness, merino wool brings temperature regulation and moisture management. The rib structure stretches and follows the body.
  • Merinostretch – the stretchier knit for movement. It gives room to bend and returns to shape.

Is merino wool good for rest and recovery?

Yes. Merino fibre holds moisture as vapour and releases it slowly, so the skin does not feel damp through small changes in temperature. The same mechanism works at rest as in movement. How warm or cool a garment feels is still individual.

Does merino wool itch?

For most people, no. Prickle comes from wool fibres over 30 microns that do not bend against the skin but press into it. Merino fibre is clearly finer, bends softly and does not trigger the same reaction. Skin sensitivity is still individual.

How do you wash the Wellness collection?

Machine wash at 30 degrees on a wool or delicate programme. Use a wool detergent with a pH of 7 or below, as alkaline detergent roughens the fibre surface. No fabric softener and no tumble dryer. Airing is often enough instead of washing.
