This collection brings together North Outdoor's merino wool hoodies, shirts, knits and t-shirts for women and men. Merino regulates body temperature naturally, breathes well and stays fresh for several wears – which is why the same garment works indoors and out.
The range runs from lightweight 150 g/m² shirts for year-round wear to heavier knits for winter. Every product is made from mulesing-free merino wool.

What is the difference between a hoodie, a shirt and a knit?
A merino hoodie is a relaxed mid layer for everyday wear and the outdoors. Merino shirts and t-shirts work on their own or as a base layer. Knits are the thickest and warmest – some of ours are knitted in our own knitting mill in Oulu, Finland.
Which weight should you choose?
Fabric weight tells you about warmth, not softness. Lightweight 150 g/m² works year-round and on its own in summer. 200–225 g/m² is the most versatile in winter. Heavier knits work as an outer layer in the cold.
Is merino wool itchy?
No. Itch comes from wool fibres thicker than 30 microns, which do not bend against the skin. The merino in our base layers measures 17.5–19.5 microns – roughly a third the thickness of conventional sheep's wool.
How do you care for merino?
Most of the time no washing is needed – merino cleans itself in fresh air, so airing is enough. When washing is necessary: 30 degrees on the wool cycle with a wool detergent of pH 7 or lower. No fabric softener, no tumble dryer.
