Nature photographer Konsta Linkola is always present in his pictures. "Although I shoot a forest without a hiker or a lake without a rowan, I'm always mentally present in the picture," says Linkola about his philosophy. There are often people in the pictures, as Linkola is inspired by people's relationship to nature and hanging out there. "Objectively it often looks nuts, but when you look at the hiker or the swimmer for a longer time, they start to enter their state of mind."

“Ski hike has become a common tradition for our family, and almost every year we go hiking somewhere in the winter. Ski hiking is a great sport because it brings the expedition to a really close space where everyone is doing and helping each other. Without a friend, you may not do well, ”says Linkola about the demanding sport and the mood at the time of shooting.

"Finland is full of beautiful places, but the best ones can be found where you feel good," Linkola says of destinations where you prefer. Not always something special is needed. Linkola continues: “For me, the best place is often a cottage with good people. The cottage is the most familiar touching surface for many Finns and a break from a busy everyday life. ”

The camera has remained in the hands of Linkola since he was a teenager. The hobby started at the scout camps took me as he went. “The interest that started this has taken me around the world for almost ten years. I studied in Berlin for the year, but I said I learned better through work, ”says Linkola about his career.

Linkola is a versatile and open -minded photographer: “I am omnivorous that I find good excursions and activities for each year. Autumn is a great time when the fall colors the ground and the trees, and the northern lights start to appear in the dark night sky. ”

Linkola always describes outdoors. He enjoys commercial production because they can work with other creative people.

“These productions can be anything in principle, but basically outside the studio,” says Linkola.

Shooting is also important to Linkola in their spare time: “For my own fun and art, I focus on photographing people in nature and our impact on our environment. I will start to get more from year to year more portraitsTo taste, ”concludes Linkola.
