Lumikko is a long-hemmed sweater featuring a reversible turtleneck, crafted from our softknit merino wool. This knit feels incredibly comfortable against the skin, providing both warmth and coziness. The reversible turtleneck and extended hem add versatility to the sweater, making it an ideal choice for everyday wear as well as relaxed outdoor activities. Designed with timeless style in mind, the Lumikko sweater pairs effortlessly with a variety of outfits. Responsibly produced through local manufacturing at North Outdoor’s own knitting factory in Finland, Lumikko is made using high-quality, mulesing-free merino wool yarn. The product’s sustainability is further enhanced by our modern knitting machines, which minimize material waste by knitting the garments directly to the correct size, eliminating the need for excess cutting.

The softness of merino wool comes down to its fiber diameter, measured in microns. The lower the micron count, the softer the feel. Unlike most merino wool brands, we use only the finest merino fibers, crafting pieces that deliver exceptional comfort and a luxurious touch that lasts.

Take care of your merino wool garment with gentle handling – it will also extend the lifespan of your garment!

1. Fresh air is merino wool's best friend! Air out the garment regularly and wash only when necessary. Use wool detergent and a delicate wash at 30 degrees celsius with the lightest spin cycle, and remember to turn the garment inside out during washing.
2. Avoid tumble drying, as it can damage the delicate merino wool fibers. Instead of tumble dry, shape the merino garment when damp and dry it flat, for example, on top of a towel.
3. If needed, you can steam or iron the merino garment on low heat (maximum 110 °C).
